FlySight LLC ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the FlySight mobile application ("the App").
FlySight is a flight performance tracking and analytics application designed to help pilots record flights and review personal performance trends.
We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
When creating an account or using features, you may provide:
- Name (optional)
- Email address
- Aircraft tail number / N-number (optional)
- Aircraft type
- Flight notes and reflections
- CFI or student connection information (if using sharing features)
B. Automatically Collected Flight Data
When you record a flight session, FlySight may collect:
- Precise GPS location (latitude and longitude)
- Ground speed
- Heading
- GPS altitude
- Timestamp data
- Device type and operating system
- App performance diagnostics
Location data is collected only:
- During an active flight recording session initiated by you, or
- When background recording is enabled during an active session.
FlySight does not track your location outside of flight recordings.
C. ADS-B and Public Flight Data
If you use the ADS-B lookup feature, FlySight may retrieve publicly available flight track data from third-party aviation data providers.
This data is used solely for:
- Flight visualization
- Historical track display
- Performance analytics
We do not control third-party data accuracy or availability.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data to:
- Record and display flight tracks
- Generate personalized performance insights
- Compare performance against your historical baseline
- Improve app reliability and performance
- Provide customer support
- Enable optional CFI/student sharing features
FlySight does not:
- Sell personal data
- Use data for third-party advertising
- Share performance data publicly without consent
AI-Powered Analysis
FlySight uses artificial intelligence to provide flight analysis and post-flight debriefs. When you use these features, the following data may be sent to our AI service provider (Anthropic) for processing:
- GPS flight track data (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, heading)
- Computed flight metrics and maneuver scores
- Your debrief conversation messages (if using the conversational debrief feature)
- Audio transcriptions (if using voice-based debriefs)
This data is sent solely for the purpose of generating your personalized flight analysis and debrief feedback. Anthropic processes this data under their data usage policies and does not use it to train AI models. No raw GPS coordinates or personally identifiable location data is retained by Anthropic after processing.
4. Data Sharing
We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
A. Service Providers
We use trusted third-party providers for:
- Secure cloud storage and database hosting
- AI-powered flight analysis and debriefs (Anthropic)
- Crash reporting and diagnostics (Sentry)
- Authentication services (Google)
- Email communications
These providers process data solely on our behalf and are required to safeguard it.
B. CFI / Student Sharing (Optional)
If you connect with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) or student:
- Data is shared only with your explicit opt-in consent.
- You may revoke access at any time.
- Only selected flight summaries and performance insights are shared.
C. Legal Compliance
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect legal rights or safety.
5. Data Storage and Security
We implement commercially reasonable safeguards including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure cloud database storage
- Restricted administrative access
- Authentication protections
No digital system is completely secure, but we take appropriate measures to protect user information.
6. Location Data Policy
FlySight collects precise location data exclusively for flight tracking and performance analysis.
Location data:
- Is collected only during active recording sessions
- May continue in the background during active sessions to ensure complete flight tracking
- Is not used for advertising or behavioral tracking
- Is never sold
You may disable location permissions at any time through your device settings.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and flight data:
- As long as your account remains active
- Until you request deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the App via Settings > Delete Account. You may also request deletion by contacting: support@flysightapp.com
Upon deletion:
- All account data is permanently removed from our servers
- All flight records, analyses, debriefs, and training data are deleted
- Any CFI/student connections are terminated
- Limited anonymized system analytics may be retained for app improvement
8. Children's Privacy
FlySight is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request corrections
- Request deletion
- Withdraw consent

10. App Tracking Transparency
FlySight does not use cross-app tracking or third-party advertising identifiers.
We do not use IDFA for targeted advertising.
If tracking practices change in the future, we will request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updated versions will include a revised effective date and will be posted within the App and on our website.
Continued use of FlySight after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
